今回、日本初の展示では、主に過去3年間に制作された小さな彫刻を展示。展示スペースの建築条件と相互作用している。自然に関連し、モジュール化され、適応可能な日本の建築様式の軽さが、同様に可変的で素材志向のミニマルな彫刻と調和している。展覧会タイトルは、テキストと一体化した線と組み合わされ、一種のタイポグラフィ・イメージを形成し、テキストとの芸術的な関わり、彫刻の分野での線、そして書道の魅力に言及している。

きつく張られたリボン、鉄のレール、ワイヤーが展示空間を貫き、小さな彫刻の土台となっている。

子供の頃からある鳥の描写でさえ、日本の芸術、神話、文学文化を反映することができる.

The small sculptures, primarily created in the last three years, interact with the architectural conditions of the exhibition spaces. The lightness of the nature-related, modular, and adaptable Japanese architectural style harmonizes with the minimalist sculptures, which are likewise variable and material-oriented. The exhibition title, combined with a line that integrates into the text, forms a kind of typographic image and refers to the artistic engagement with text, the line in the sculptural field, and the fascination with calligraphy.

Tightly stretched ribbons, iron rails, and wires run through the exhibition space and form the base of the small sculptures.

Even the bird depictions that have been present since my childhood can reflect Japan’s artistic, mythological and literary culture.

ロレンツ・フリードリヒ

1988年、ザンクト・ファイト・アン・デア・グラン（オーストリア）に生まれる。

2004〜2008年　ハルシュタット高等技術連邦専門学校彫刻科に在籍。

2007年　ウィーン、シュテファン大聖堂の建築作業場にて実習。

2009〜2015年　ウィーン美術アカデミーにて、ハイモ・ゾーベルニグに師事。

現在はウィーンとケルンテンで活動。

木版から彫り出され、ブロンズで鋳造されたミニチュアフィギュアは、ロレンツ・フリードリヒの芸術活動の中心にあります。彼の作品は日常的な物や段ボールと組み合わされ、ユーモアと壊れやすい緊張感の間を行き来します。

親密さと距離、可視性と透明性、動きと彫刻の間の揺れを通じて、人間の身体の緊張感の非現実的な高まりを表現します。

モデル化された瞬間の捕捉は、鑑賞者に自己像の映し鏡を提示し、二つの世界の間の地平線上をバランスしながら歩ませます。視点の転換は、彼の創作プロセスのキーワードとなっています。

 また、彼は大規模なフォーマットや、空間を取り込んだサイトスペシフィックなインスタレーション、写真、テキスト、映像の分野にも積極的に挑戦しています。

彼はすでに幅広い連作を制作しており、本展覧会ではその全体像が明らかになります。

 彼はアメリカ、チェコ、エストニア、フランス、ギリシャ、クロアチア、ポーランド、スロベニアなどでの国際展覧会や映画祭にも参加。

国内では、バンク・オーストリア芸術賞（2013年）をはじめとする様々な賞を受賞し、2016年にはパリでレジデンスにも参加。

彼の作品は、ケルンテン現代美術館、ウィーン銅版画室 [a]、クラーゲンフルト市立ギャラリー、フィラッハ市などの公共コレクションに収蔵されています。

LORENZ FRIEDRICH

Born in 1988 in St. Veit an der Glan (Austria), Lorenz Friedrich lives and works in Vienna and Carinthia.

2004–2008: Attended the Higher Technical Federal Teaching and Research Institute in Hallstatt, Department of Sculpture.

2007: Internship at the St. Stephen’s Cathedral construction workshop in Vienna.

2009–2015: Studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna under Heimo Zobernig.

Miniature figures, carved from woodcuts and cast in bronze, are central to Lorenz Friedrich’s artistic work.

His pieces combine everyday objects and cardboard, moving on the edge between humor and fragile tension.

In their ambivalence between closeness and distance, visibility and concealment, movement and sculpture, his works express an unreal intensification of human bodily tension.

The modeled snapshots reflect the viewer’s own image and balance on the horizon between two worlds.

Shifting perspectives are a recurring motif in his creative process. 

Friedrich also ventures into large-scale formats, spatial installations, and crosses into the fields of photography, text, and film.

He has created an extensive, serial body of work, parts of which are revealed through this exhibition.

Internationally, he has exhibited and participated in film festivals in the USA, Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Greece, Croatia, Poland, and Slovenia.

Domestically, he has received national awards, such as the Bank Austria Art Prize (2013), and has participated in various artist residencies, including one in Paris in 2016.

His works are part of private and public collections, including the Museum of Modern Art Carinthia, the Copperplate Engraving Cabinet [a] Vienna, the City Gallery of Klagenfurt, and the City of Villach.
